15 Apr AR2814 CAK Animation (New HA image added 20 Apr)
Half of the morning on 15 Apr provided a fair window for solar imaging. After the clouds went away I captured 60 video recording from 0:40 to 1:14 UTC. There were 2 B-class minor flares, one at 0:00UTC which I missed and another at about 1:00 UTC.
My CAK workhorse was used: a C11 fitted with an ARIES D-ERF (full aperture), a pair of Chroma CAK filters mounted in a Skybender and an ASI174MM camera.
This is resultant animation. Best viewed on a desktop. Please do a right click to watch the animation in its full resolution. See if you can spot the flare
The flare is in frame 42
Enjoy the changes in the CAK atmosphere.

Re: AR2814 CAK Animation (15Apr21)
Thanks Alexandra. You must be held back by the weather.
Over here, we are in the middle of a prevailing inter-monsoon condition. The local weather man told us that thundery showers are expected between the predawn hours and morning. However there are some morning when it does not rain. Lots of water vapour in the atmosphere may be the reason whey my latest set of HA images that do not have a "clean" look, like this one taken on 15 Apr after the CAK imaging session:

Re: AR2814 CAK Animation (15Apr21)
Thanks, Terry. I am trying to find out why my HA images are not "clean". It's not capture/processing noise but seems to have "dirt" in the wavy parts.

Re: AR2814 CAK Animation (15Apr21)
Thanks for your kind words, Nigella.
Some post-processed CAK frames were, in my opinion over-processed because I applied the same post processing for most of the 60 frames. The animation could have turned out better if I paid attention to each frame and applied the right level of processing to have more consistency in the images. The different recording quality reflects the changing condition during the session.

Re: AR2814 CAK Animation (15Apr21)
It's seeing Alfred, or lack of it more to the point. The seeing does not support the aperture you are using. Less so in CaK than Ha because of the shorter wavelength.
You should really try some side by side images with a considerably smaller aperture scope. You will find you will get better results with the smaller scope, very much so with the CaK.
I'm pleased you're getting to image and please hope you don't take offence at my 'directness', i'm just saying what i'm see is going on when you are making observations about your own images

Thank you very much. I am very glad to receive feedback to improve my work. Frank and straight forward feedback are the best. With the help and advice that I have received from this forum, I have been able to make much progress. So, thank you Mark and everyone for your help.

Good to see you're still going strong with the high res imaging there, Alfred.
Interesting to see as always.
