1hr time lapse of partial disc+proms, 19th of April
Had a beautiful day that was finally completely cloudless (makes doing a timelaspe easier as you don't have to correct flicker/brightness variation nearly as much), and also had it off, so I got to do a lot of solar today, felt good.
This was an area I though would have more movement, but it ended up being pretty chill for the most part, but still fun to watch. I usually also color my time lapses, but this one actually had a decent amount of detail in the gradients that seemed to get crushed a bit too much when coloring, so I left it monochrome. Doesn't have that dramatic look to it that I normally like, but its easier to parse out the detail and more easily follow the movement of the little 'disc wispies' (is that a technical term?)
Lunt 100 single stack with asi294mm+bin2 and 4x telecentric with ROI of about 2100x1440, getting about 35ish fps.
Gif is forward playing only.

It looks more complicated than it is. Instead of taking just one video to make a single image, you take a bunch of videos at regular intervals to turn into single images of regular intervals, batch process them to your liking then join them up in an animated series or short video using any number of programs (many of them free) to make an animation out of them. You could totally do it:)

Hi Rich,
Check out the tutorial section on this site (Library).
Here's a document that might help you.

That’s a beautiful animation.
I don’t think I’ve seen one that includes both disk and proms before.
Well done.

JamesB,
Very nice to watch. It runs smooth and is evenly lit. Very natural and has a lot of detail.

Re: 1hr time lapse of partial disc+proms, 19th of April
Much of that credit goes not to my capture ability but to the tools available in Davinci Resolve, a video editor I've been learning the last few weeks. It has deflicker/brightness normalization, frame rate increase/interpolation, incredible stabilzation, the ability to process images in spite of being a video editor, and other tools that really make up for my lack of attention to detail in the capture process, lol. It amazes me what software and tech can do these days!DeepSolar64 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 1:45 am JamesB,
