April, 20 Ca K images with Barr + Alluxa stack and TOA 150

Post by christian viladrich »

Hello,
Yesterday, I was blessed by spells of good seeing thank to windy conditions. The Barr + Alluxa stack is definitely a killer in Ca K.

The ASI 1600 is another killer for Ca K FD images:

The view of AR2816 was great:

Unfortunatly, seeing got worse when I went to AR2817. Sill the view of the flare and some fibrils was great :

Clear skies !

Spectacular images, Christian!
The high resolution results are amazing.

Cheers.

Yup! That works
Is that 0.8ms exposure time running on minimum gain with the ASI?

*edit - ignore me - can see the gain values on the image footer*

Thanks to all !
Peter, the images are taken from my garden. This summer, I'll go to St Véran.
Leo, I use Baader FFC at about 3.2x. Maybe Baader TZ-3 could be a good idea too. I'll see if I can get one for a test.

I wondered how you were getting this image scale ;)

You should give Freds 2.79x telecentric a try at CaK, I find it a brilliant piece of glass down in the blue. I'd be interested to see how you got on with it, and how it compares to the FFC.

Barr Associates was bought by Materion Precisions some years ago. Their commecial policy changed and their prices skyrocketed ...

That's a shame. It will probably cost them valuable customers.
