23-4-2021 A NEW NORTH-CENTRAL AR - WITH SPOTS TODAY

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Well AR2817 may have disappeared from the visual northern-hemisphere, but it looks as if it is about to be replaced by a new AR in the
Northern-Central region, as the latest SDO image shows. Small and faint, three-spots are clearly visibubble... :band

If that is true it looks like a very high latitude region, we need those as an indicator of a very active cycle ahead :) we want a mega cycle not a weak one.

Thanks again Maurits and Alexandra.

I did check my screen for any dust-bunnies and so SDO have certainly captured this new event.
Let's hope things can only get better with another AR...

In fact, just checked with SDO again and their hi-resolution/4096 capture - shows this is definitely an AR with three-spots at about 17:00Z...

Well "spotted" then James, as they are not too easy to see.
