Thanks. I oversharpened it a bit but I guess you cannot beat the seeing.

That is a really stunning image Minh, you are really getting the best from your Quark :bow :hamster:

One thing to be careful is that there are no sharp edges on the Sun, it is all fluffy hydrogen plasma. So with sharpening, less is more :)

Thanks Alex,
I'll be more careful next time. And I am really feeling the aperture fever. And I thought DSO was expensive :))

A beautiful and exquisite capture Minh.
Even when I zoom in by 3x to your image, it is still incredibly sharp.

Thanks vm for sharing

Thanks Terry, the resolution is quite big (2700x2000px if I am remember it correctly. So there are plenty of details when zoomed in.

Minh:
Beautiful super clear and sharp processed image,
I also tend to oversharpen my solar images, probably due to the fact that many years I used to image the Moon and Planets, so the idea was to get the clearest sharpest views of their features.
Best wishes.
Eric.

Interesting image.
Are you using some kind of line enhancement filter?
I’m familiar with the Images Plus line enhancement filter which can produce a spidery network of “lines” like you seem to have here.
It might be interesting to post your pre-processed image.
Cheers.

I use topaz sharpen and giga for sharpening and enlargement with some deconvolution in PI + highpass in PTS. Since the Topaz tool are AI based and sharpen/enlarging by machine learning, I really do not know how much detail in this is from the software itself so take it with a grain of salt. Definitely not a scientific representation of what's happening on the sun but it makes interesting look. Think of it more like an artwork.

I hope that I have days where the seeing is as good as what you experienced when you produced this image.
I like your processing very much.
I know you use a Quark but what scope is it used on?

I sometimes use a Quark to double stack an LS152 and it has produced some great images for me in the past.

Thanks, Lou. Actually the seeing is not that great since I shot from center of a megacity through concrete building blocks in almost 40*C ambient. And that days there are some very thin high cloud so I'd rate the seeing as 4-5/10.
Since the seeing was mediocre I had to put in more sharpening which is clearly evident on the final image. With better seeing I can squeeze out some more detail with somewhat wispy plasma fingers.

The above image is taken via seeing 6-7/10
I used my Quark with a Sharpstar al107ph with a 2.5 inches field flattener.

Good shots! Like others have said maybe back off on the sharpening a bit.
