May 16, 2021 AR12822 and proms Ha

Post by Astrophil »

Hi All,

Again I’m late to the solar party and almost let AR 12822 pass me by. Couldn’t let that happen so this morning I set up for the capture. Using the 6” Mak, Solar Spectrum filter, and PGR Grasshopper Gx the following images were recorded. A Quark Combo was thrown into the mix for the filaproms.

First up is an inverted image of the AR followed by a normal shot. The third image shows a tiny flare just south of the spot, lasting a few minutes and did not amount to much. The filaproms were rather weak, unfortunately, but it was fun to image again.

Phil

Super images, Phil.
I’m glad you post the inverted versions. They really seem to show off the resolution.
The filaprom images are pretty terrific as well.
Cheers.
Peter
