Heads Up 17th May

Post by Stardust5858 »

Another unexpected session this morning after my run when the clouds parted. I was out running and the sky cleared, ran faster to get back home and open up the dome. Screenshots for info. Two lovely proms, one north and one south. AR2822 still holding up with one spot. Can't see any other spots but four areas of faculae and plage area's. looks like a plage area just visible on the North East quadrant. I took off the 360 degree clocking rotator on the lunt 60mm and had difficulty getting even illumination, wish I hadn't so it's gone back on but the clouds came in again. Why do we do silly things?

Thanks Maurits, yes, for once I had some stable air. Hopefully get them processed and posted tomorrow. Supposed to be raining tomorrow so it can be done then, lol.

So Ella, is it the running or the de-clocking that are the "silly things" ?

What is far from silly though, are your excellent screen-shots again and yes of course you have spotted the newbie in the N.E., so well done there and that one - could be very interesting over the next-days...

Best Wishes
Terry

Definitely the running is silly, lol. At least that's what I think in the middle of the run. Only joking, yes, the North Eastern quadrant does look very interesting, large spot apparently. Hopefully we'll get some sun. I've done quite well recently as the forecast each day gave thunderstorms but I've had some clear sky for a few hours each time.

Take care Ella
