TWO MORE AR's FAST APPROACHING/or at THE S.E. & N.E. LIMB TODAY

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

The subject says it all, so with the demise of two other AR's soon to the West, hopefully these will make-up for that loss.. :hamster:

Thank you Maurits.
Further images from SDO today show the on-coming AR's in the NE and SE.
Also can be seen the amount of radiation coming from the Sun's disk and outsides too.

Certainly showing that Cycle #25 is now well under way...

Thanks for the heads up Terry. Might be a little premature to call them ARs. I see no sunspots in the new one on the east limb.

Thank you Mark and yes indeed, looks good as well as our weather here in the S.E. at least for a few days.
I have to work on Wednesday, so will not likely see whatever is happening, so rely on yourselves to en-lighten me instead..

Thank you Franco.

Dan, of course AR's do not necessarily have spots at any particular-time, but spots form and die in AR's...

Thank you James Alexandra and Eric. Unable to get any images today throughout the glorious cloud-free day here in S.E.England - due to a work commitment and tomorrow could well be the same, unless I can finish early.

Sorry to say Alexandra, it's hit and/or miss for much of the western-half of the U.K., for a couple of days, but according to the charts, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are looking hopeful for your area and much of the country.

I've just been watching on radar the attempts of landing AirForce-1/Presential-Boeing747 and an accompanying aircraft in the far-south-west of Cornwell, where even us pilots and weather-forecasters can't get everything correct for even a very few-hours, as both aircraft had to circle and/or dog-leg for over an hour - before landing and even for a relatively short flight from the East of England. The wind appeared to be well across the runway centre-line and I suspect the crews were playing very safe, or even thinking of having to divert back to where they took-off. Even U.S. Presidents can't have everything their own way...

Similarly the current weather is looking good, but an amount of uncertainty in some areas exists for the new few days...

Cheers
Terry
