Quick solar eclipse shot

Post by JochenM »

I had a quick look at today's eclipse (I'm sure I'm not the only one :) ). The initial plan was to make a timelapse; but there were too many interruptions in my view (clouds moving in and out constantly), so binned that idea.

I did a fairly nice opening around max occultation here, so all good in the end.

Setup: Lunt LS50, IMX178.

Thanks for looking!

Excellent!!!!! :hamster: hip hip hooray!!

Just come in from watching ..... the clouds :(
Never mind, I had some beautiful naked eye views through the cloud, no solar filters needed

Nice.

Just on my way back from a 270mile round trip to try to get a view. Just managed one terrible shot through a small gap in the clouds. Will post what I can recover from the video later. Good to see someone here got a good view. Good one, Jochen

Yes Jochen, you certainly weren't the only one by far and You got a well-good catpure.

Exactly as said previously, Essex was smitten by the "fluffy stuff", so no chance...

Thanks for sharing

The eclipse ended only minutes after sunrise here in western North Carolina. Clouds stopped what little chance I had of seeing it. Thanks for the wonderful view Jochen.
