June 11 2021 WL only

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Session time is 16:00 to 17:20 UTC. Very intermittent. The skies are mostly cloudy with both low level and high level clouds. The seeing is below average. The temperature is 79F.

Orion 70mm Solar telescope. 25x, 50x and 62.5x ( WL )
The Sun has became quite calm as of late. I can see a small long bar of a spot in AR12832. The SDO HMI continuum image shows it to be composed of a line of pores. SDO shows more just to the NE. I cannot see them visually. Better seeing would have probably helped me resolve this small system. No faculae visible to AR12832. It's too far from the limb in the NW.

AR12829 in the SW is visible just by it's bright faculae. SDOHMIc shows a pore there but try as I might I just cannot see it.

I see another patch of faculae in the SE. I see no spots or pores within it.

The granulation can only be glimpsed today.

Carpe Cerevisi!

James

Thanks for the report James. Hopefully the sun won't be calm for too long.

Yes I agree, and something biggish is coming round the bend soon.
Can't show a Heliographic image as the website or satellite appears to be down at present.

Thanks James
Terry

Thanks for the quiet report, we have been so spoiled recently that now it is quiet we have forgotten what last year was like :)
