AR2833 and Prominences too today Monday 14th June

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Well after starting-work at 5AM in the observatory for the last two days, before the temperature rises to 40-degsC., I decided to open-up and with very "CLEAR SKIES" when the Sun rose enough to capture the new AR2833 in 3-lights.

Also noticed quite a few proms and a large one too, so attached are those here..

I make no apologies for the less than perfect captures, as although I have taken loads of large AVI's, I will be going through those in the cool-climate - indoors. Will post later if any better than these single-frame shots.

Enjoy and CLEAR SKIES..
Terry

Excellent work catching the new sunspot and prominences, Terry. Here only clouds and rain.

Many thanks Alexandra. You should be able to catch those CaK proms by in some cases, by simply over-clocking the the capture time from that used for surface detail to basically an 'all-white' disk and maybe beyond. Certainly the Lunt 60mm can do that (in my case)...

Thanks Franco for your welcome comments. Blue skies were all day, up to around 1300z, but now quite a lot of cloud and no doubt the beginning of something more drastic, such as thunderstorms in the next two days onwards.. (I see that is happening in N.France and to the west of - too.)..
At least the temperature here is now 30-degsC outside of the observatory and 40+ in the observatory with the roof closed or open...!!

CLEAR SKIES
Terry

We'll done Terry, great you got that big prom in CaK. I too managed that in CaK today. I actually like trying to capture those prom's in Calcium II K. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully you'll get others processed from today..

Thank you Ella and James.
I am quite busy with other chores, so for the moment finding the time to process the many AVI's of the captures (like Ella) is not always too easy.
I also prefer to post the images on (or as near to) the same day captured, which for yesterday was not possible, so may try again today...

I've just been informed that a large prom was around early today, but I was "in the land of the nod" then, so have appeared to have missed that...

Cheers
Terry
