17.06.2021 AR12833 and a filament chain
Warm, breezy and cloudy here as we develop a short heatwave. A few days of 28C or about 84F is too hot!
My first capture was the best so far today. AR12833 had to be moved to the edge of the stage.
To allow room for the chain of filaments climbing towards the NE limb.

Two excellent captures Chris.
BTW although I can't see it in your captures, apparently there is another spot forming close to AR2833 in the NW of, which if significant, might cause some flaring.
Thanks for sharing
Terry

I had a quick look around but can't see any new spots developing.
How close is this supposed to be to AR12833?

Re: 17.06.2021 AR12833 and a filament chain
Thank you all for your encouragement.
It became too hot to continue after lunch. 28C or 84F in the shade meant 86F in the observatory.
With my [plywood] dome radiating 120F heat at me, from all directions, I was being grilled alive!

Re: 17.06.2021 AR12833 and a filament chain
Hi Chris. In answer to your question, you may have already seen my post of the whole disk and close-up, but no probs as attached here will be easier than me getting my tape-measure and doing the biz myself on the Sun's surface !! hehe..
And 28-degsC/84F eh !! Well what about my recorded high of 42-degsC yesterday in the observatory ?? I've had to take to starting as early as 5AM
for about 5-hours to do any other work in the observatory, other than opening the roof for actual-imaging. If I leave the roof-open for the fresh-air, everything will get cooked (including myself) unless sufficient wind is around. In fact I have to produce that wind, by a turbo-fan and a large powerful fan on a stand, which just helps just a little... "red-hot moti"
At least today for a while, the temps are much more favourable... (with total cloud-cover - there's not much point in opening the roof either)...
Regards
Terry

Thanks everybody.
Terry,
42C? That's about 105F in old money!
Are you sure you hadn't wandered into your greenhouse by mistake?
Let's be careful out in there!
