AR12833 spot splitting

Post by RodAstro »

Hi
A quick capture yesterday just before the sun went behind my neighbours roof, it was cloudy all day then about 6pm the sun came out so a quickly opened up the observatory and setup.
The main spot in AR12833 has a nice bridge and appears to be splitting in two, maybe getting more active, it will be interesting to see if it happens before the area goes over the limb.

A very nice image, Rod. I really like how the filaments pop out.

Well done Rod on your excellent captures of the filament and bridge.

There are signs that this region is quieting-down a little, but at least further action elsewhere is expected soon...

Thanks for sharing
Terry

A lot of times a light bridge across the umbra is a sign of decay. I hope more activity it is. Splitting in two reminds me of binary fission in cellular reproduction.

That's a real beauty Rod, I like light bridges, they are beautiful high res targets :)
