Animation of NW Sun, 19 June 2021, 111 minutes, 115 frames

Post by H-Alpha »

Dear all,

Thanks to the help of Alan and Alexandra I can finally upload large animations in Flickr and embed the gif BBCode (of the original!) here without overloading the solarchat page! Hope everything works fine and we can enjoy looping animated gifs now, as long as my disk space and the clouds will allow! :-) :-) :-) Next month I will leave for more than a month for research expeditions out in the sea and all the amazing experience with the sun will stop for a while, so I try to enjoy the scope, the summer clear skies, the acceptable seeing and our forum as much as possible these last days.

The following is the uncropped animation of two days ago. I had posted earlier just the active area with the penumbral waves of the AR12833, since the size of the full frame animation presented here was 135Mbs...

Hope you will like it. Especially the fact that the sun's rotation starts to be visible now, especially if you focus on the right side at the limb.

Lunt130MT masked @102 mm, ASI290MM, 115 frames during 111 minutes.
PLEASE allow for the animation to properly and fully load to enjoy it. Now it loads much faster!
IF YOU WISH TO WATCH IT AT FULL RESOLUTION, please open in a new tab (Flickr), click on the right bottom download symbol and select either ORIGINAL size to open it in your Media Viewer, or VIEW ALL SIZES and then select ORIGINAL size to watch it animated in Flickr.

Best wishes to all with lovely clear skies!

Wow. There is so much going on in this. The active region, the rotation and then action on the limb. This might be the best animation I have seen as this looks good when looking at the whole frame and if one zooms to the active region there is a separate show available. :bow

Imagine that today I reached 2h and 40 min!
And I have to correct manually the tracking every 2-3 captures, because while waiting for the HQ6 that I have ordered, I have only an old rented equatorial that isn't best quality...
I may upload the long animation later. The prom is fantastic together with AR, but 1/3 of the end of the animation is too blurry because of seeing deterioration...

No problem though! The goal is still alive and waits for better and longer lasting seeing! :D

Best wishes,
Alexandros
