June 23 2021 WL Only.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Session time is from 15:00 to 16:00 UTC, intermittent. The skies are mostly cloudy. The seeing is below average. The temperature is 70F. Breezy.

Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x, 50x and 62.5x ( WL )
I can see one spot bearing both penumbra and penumbra surrounded by faculae in the far NW. I see no pores or no other spots besides this one large one. This is the system of AR12833. I can also see faculae near the NE limb and some more faculae very close to the SE limb. I can see no pores in either.

Granulation is difficult today.

Carpe Lumen!

James

Sounds like plenty of faculae to be seen in the east, all show and no go :)

Great observation session, James. Looks like the Sun is preparing a new show. In any case, let's hope.

Thanks for the report James, was foggy and grey here today. Weekend looks a solar write off too - think it might be a boat and beer weekend...

Boat and beer! That sounds like a good weekend to me. Take the travel kit just in case.

So far no observations for me today. Totally overcast skies for me so far. :(

P.S. I finally did get a small observation in using the Lunt 8x32 SUNoculars. You can actually see brighter faculae with them!
