NEW - AR2840 with spots in the far N.W. today 7-7-2021

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Another AR as 2840 has just formed in the far North-West and will only be visible for a day or so before it dives over the border...

Thanks Terry,
It is a pity that in the west, the Sun is not abundant in details right now.

All good news but we will have to wait two weeks to see what it develops into :)

It might take that long for me to get a WL image of AR12840 out of my sky. :D

I stripped all the H-a equipment out of my 150/10 for a rare WL image and it promptly clouded over in protest!

I'll post if I am successful. The 90mm didn't have the reach even with a 2x Barlow. :(

Thanks Ivan and yes a little quiet for now.

Yes Chris, I suspect these are developing and destined for a "far-side" action.

Also Alexandra - it might last that long, but who knows ?

As you know Chris, another astronomer said about "Equal and Opposite Reactions" - so perhaps that's a clue to your weather at least ??

CLEAR SKIES

Terry,

It has cost me two hours to get a WL image from the 6" between clouds.

Just to prove you were right in the first place.

Well, they were very small spots!

So I was only a little wrong. ;)

Thank you Eric and I only posted the one SDO image, whereas our Chris has posted so many here, to prove a point.

Well obviously I have to congratulate Chris for his efforts and as there are now (reportedly) 4-spots for this AR, there is still a small chance before it falls over the edge !!

Chris, for your efforts, I'm gonna give you a medal, but where to pin-it is another matter.

Thank you guys
Regards
Terry
