16-7-2021 ACTIVITY IS BUILDING-UP TODAY !!
There is new activity in the S.E. at the limb as two AR's (one of which shows a spot at least).
AR2842 in the North is still showing just the one spot, whilst AR2841 is clearly showing up to 7-spots before it dives over the limb at the S.W.
Proms look interesting for imaging today, so three-lights should show some nice (or better) captures...
Unfortunately even though the Sun is shining here today, a new telescope has just arrived and also the new mini-observatory has too, so maybe later, I might get to the main observatory for a looksy and/or imaging. Can't do everything at once, so will be looking at the excellent images here instead...
CLEAR SKIES
Terry

Thank you Franco and like-wise here, but not being paid for the work here.
Correction:- the S.W. AR near that limb, is apparently AR2843 (not 2841), which suggests that one of the newbies in the S.E. will likely be AR2844, but I may be wrong there !!

A very nice surprise Terry, hopefully a little sunshine here where I live, after all that rain.

Terry,
It's an exciting day for you! Good luck on getting everything set up and ready. But new scopes attract clouds!

Re: 16-7-2021 ACTIVITY IS BUILDING-UP TODAY !!
Ha Ha James, that sounds about correct, although today has been beautifully clear blue skies and getting warmer (too warm) too.
All these new presents (I wish they were presents) will be keeping me extra-busy for some time - I guess...
As I have now unpacked the newbie and all looks ok, the newbie is a Sky-Watcher Esprit 80ED Super APO TRIPLET. Looks very well made and it will probably get its' first airing on the Moon or night-sky first, as it is hoped it will eventually replace the Orion ED80T-CF on the Solar tri-scope assembly.
It took two-months from ordering, but hey can't expect much better due to the obvious situation..
The Orion scope will probably be used in the mini-observatory for Lunar and WL-Solar purposes later-on and specifically when during the Winter-months the Sun is low in the south...
I've got a Solar-equipped spotting-scope (ready on its' tripod) for quick looks, so don't miss too much in WL at least...

Thanks Alexandra and I certainly re-iterate your comment...
Well you've said it so many times about being busy when the skies are clear, so I can suggest that this weekend (until Tuesday even) you should get some Sun-bathing time for your scopes at least.

Thank you Maurits and likewise for your weather and the other side of the North Sea from me, is looking good for the next few days as a nice high-pressure region has taken over, so hoping you also get some Sun-bathing too... !!
To everybody then, PLEASE STAY SAFE & VERY WELL and wishing you CLEAR SKIES too.

Re: 16-7-2021 ACTIVITY IS BUILDING-UP TODAY !!
Thanks again James and hopefully will prove itself as being better than its' predecessor and at least one of the existing Altair cameras will allow a full-disk capture without any FR's and the Barlows should perform better through it too..
The focus-system and its' locking device is exceptional compared to anything-else on any of my gear...
Will be producing some images of it and it's hi-spec transport-case etc., possibly tomorrow with the techie-stuff too.
Cheers
Terry

Re: 16-7-2021 ACTIVITY IS BUILDING-UP TODAY !!
While my C102 and AT72EDII do beat my Orion70 I can't complain about the little scope at all. It's only weakness is the focuser but it does work. It was an excellent buy for 133 dollars!

That's a grand saving James for the Orion 70 and any savings now (or previously) allow for better things later - if needed.
