19-7-2021 - AR2842 IS AN INTERESTING TARGET

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

:hamster:
AR2842 is certainly the most interesting feature today - as so may spots to capture.

Approaching the S.E.Limb is a very large area of activity - starting tomorrow/Tuesday to come into view and getting a larger-view within two to three days. :hamster:

Yep, I think that is the mega spot group from last time round. I wonder where the region that gave off the X class is?

Thanks you Alexandra and Maurits.

The very-active (X-flaring AR), on the basis that AR2840 departed the N.W.Limb on the 9th July, should be about another day or so before it reappears - if still active of course.

The Heliographic, suggests that this might be the area approaching -90degs in the N.E., which doesn't now look particularly active, but of course that still might change..

Cheers
Terry

CORRECTION to my previous.
The X-Flaring AR was AR2838 and in any case, will likely be re-numbered - if spots reappear...

Hello Mark,
I'm as fine as can be expected - thanks for asking. Still waiting to be able to get the Cataract job done, but here the Virus has caused me to delay again, as now 5-poosible eye-clinics are on the list, but all in an unhealthy area at present.

Good to see you back and with your images and presumably now taking a rest from the work-chores. Good also to see you have relocated to the canal for some peace and quiet. That's similar to my flying days away all over the country, as got me away from the day to day snags of life...

Here, very busy with either getting ready to erect the new mini-observatory - as soon as temperatures and Sun-burn (lack-of) occur.

Time being taken-off from imaging for a short while, whilst other things are happening, but do have a new-PC with XP-professional program loaded for use with my StarlightXpress HX-916 camera in the main-observatory and which also is to work alongside the main-computer there...

Alternatively, reviewing the new-acquisition of the SkyWatcher ESPRIT 80ED Triplet, with it's first airing early last-night on the Moon, which showed it to be a better solution than the Orion ED80T-CF (which will be used in the mini-observatory. Then to fit and align the ESPRIT on the Tri-Scope assembly in the main observatory. It appears that it is likely then, that full FD's in WL will be captured by the existing Altair GPCAMs, so those cams might still be suitable for further use, as I have two Mono's and the one colour version. Can always buy a new cam alternative - if required later.

A post showing the newbie and the mini-observatory base and its' laid foundation, will appear shortly...

Best Wishes Mark and CLEAR SKIES.
Regards
Terry
