FD July 19

Post by MAURITS »

It's been a long time since I've seen the sun.
Today I tried to shoot an FD, but it was trial and error, a sort of an experiment.

First image: 60 mm scope with Lunt 60 mm SS frontfilter.
Second image: 60 mm scope with Lunt 60/35 mm DS.

The problem is, I need to find a way to tune the double stack on a good manner 🤔
I find that hard to get ...

Hello Maurits
Good FD's. A photo with a doublestack looks more contrasting and more detailed.
I also noticed that the dark spot is mirrored in two images.
Thank you.

Hi Maurits, Excellent captures considering so-long since the bad-weather has prevented such.

I found that to just tune the single-stack for the best surface-detail and then adding the DS (as my both Lunt-60's) and then just only tuning the DS seems to work the best for me for better surface detail and contrast.

That of course may-well be different for different manufacturers and sizes/types of gear...

As I currently prefer to grab both surface-detail and proms, then to keep adding or taking-off the DS is a chore, where I currently prefer to keep those chores to a minimum.

I will certainly do some DS-ing for the contrast benefits as and when...

Best Wishes and CLEAR SKIES.
Terry
