20-7-2021 AR2846 IS JOINED BY ANOTHER AR IN THE S.E.

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

The hi-resolution SDO image attached is showing that, as was reported yesterday, approaching the S.E.Limb, a large active region could well be interesting. :D

Well it is, as just on that limb can be seen a large AR (unnumbered as yet)... :hamster:

CLEAR SKIES for all.

Thanks Terry, been observing it in CaK this morning, can't decide if it is a pair of spots or a spot divided by a light bridge. I couldn't see any jets etc coming from it so maybe it's quiescent...

I agree Mark, it's often difficult to define when so close to the limb, as really we are looking at these - sideways...

Another day or so, will provide us with the actuals..

Thanks Ivan and Alto.

Thanks you Maurits and Alexandra.

Thunder/Lightening building-up over London, Kent and elsewhere, so keeping a close-eye on https://map.blitzortung.org/#6.78/51.73/0.471 in case I need to disconnect and earth-switch the aerial-farm...

Cheers
