Further RCT images of AR12842_21st July 2021
Great seeing conditions this morning gave me an excellent opportunity to capture AR12842 on my 250mm RCT. I'm really pleased with its performance after the rework. Yesterday at Alexandra's showed me that it was very promising and this morning at my own imaging site further confirmed this.
Nowhere near as good as Valery, Leo or Christian's images, to name a few, but hey..... I think these are about the best I can expect, although no doubt I can further refine my work flow, settings and processing to optimise everything.
Here's the result, processed in mono and colour:
20210721_Ha_RCT_AR12842_Mono by Stuart Green, on Flickr
20210721_Ha_RCT_AR12842_2_colour by Stuart Green, on Flickr
This is a single stacked system, so the bandwidth is what it is for this single etalon. I don't have the luxury of selecting one with a very tight bandwidth
As always, thanks for looking.
Stu.

Nice RCT images, Stu. I love the red coloration on the last one. Both of these have nice contrast and detail.

Nice one Stuart!!!
Thick fog here this morning but it cleared by 9am I think this is as good a seeing as the UK will get at the moment

This came out well Stu, the seeing is quite good given the heat at the moment...

Hi Stu,
The colored image is really impressive for such a conditions! On this image you didn't rise the contrast too high and this looks more natural than on the b/w image.
I see that there is a stable progress in the results with this RC250. If you will pay even more attention to this beast instead of FDs, the progress will be here, I strongly believe.

Even if that's the best you'll ever pull of of that RC; you can be well pleased with that. Looks great!

Nothing wrong from my opinion.

Very nice images Stu. Maybe it’s just that I’m looking from my cell phone, but I don’t think the b&w image has too much contrast. I really like it and admire how it shows depth and 3 dimension

The scope is pulling off some very sharp images Stu ...it was good before but the post refinement images are great

I really appreciate your comments and push towards near perfection….it’s what drives progress and I’m onboard with that. I also want to improve my FDs, since views of the whole disk help put the scale of the features we see into perspective in relation to the Sun as a whole and I also want these images to be the best I can achieve. It also gives me something to do when the conditions are not optimal
I agree with you that more effort with the RCT can only help improve things.
