Animations from 7/27/2021

Post by rigel123 »

Some interesting motion in these animations from yesterday. Still have some to work through as well as two from today so will take some time to catch up! A good problem to have. Seeing has been good with fairly poor transparency. The sky is that slate blue of midsummer.

First up was an interesting prom on the western limb (animation has been rotated for viewing) that shows some nice quiescent motion in the top loop. Lunt LS60T SS and Skyris 236M, 30 minutes in real time.

Next was a flame prom on the NW limb with some wonderful upflow of material from the surface. Same setup as above.

Terrific animations :bow :hamster: is it possible to set the animation as repeating rather than going backwards? unless you had said there was upflow in the second I would have thought it was downflow, I got a bit confused.

Thanks Alexandra! Yeah, I wrestle with whether to simply make them repeat or go back and forth. I typically choose the back and forth on those where there is a lot of change in the background as it minimizes the "Jump" in the BG brightness change when it goes back to the beginning.
