The MASSIVE SOLAR-FLARE/PROMINENCE OF YESTERDAY

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Unfortunately due to the SolarChat outage of the 28th July, I was unable to post the early-morning SDO capture of the massive S.E. flare, but showing it now does at least show what happened.

I am hoping that some of us were able to image this event and know that from a friend who visually saw this, that it was (would have been) well-worth a capture..

CLEAR SKIES

I was imaging for a while in the morning but concentrating on the mid-line of the solar disk.
The weather has remained unstable. With far too much cloud, thunderstorms and downpours.

Thanks Chris.
Exactly the same weather-conditions here too, but early this morning some welcoming blue skies, allowing me to align the newbie WL scope and even get some 3-light captures before a few clouds...

Wow! That would have been an awesome capture. The weather has not been permitting imaging for a few days here so not even slight hopes for that prom. Would have been the largest one during this summer, I think.

Thank you everyone and yes Tommi R., it's likely to be the biggest, but no definite of course.
