White Light Extreme testing continues

Post by Simon2940 »

I grabbed more data today in White Light and did various levels of testing to get the best out of it. It really does turn out that around 20ms exposure at such an extreme focal length makes a lot of difference. I sat outside looking at 10ms all the way up to 30ms, and at the 20ms mark, it produced the best results. Also, the length of capture plays a huge part. a stacked 5000 frame (best of 20%) produced a softer image compared to a 1000 frames (Best 20%).

I also messed around with processing but im not 100% sure with the work flow yet. Going to test tomorrow with 1000 frame captures to see the results as im slowly homing in on it.

THIS ONE HERE IS THE 1000 FRAMES BEST 20% - You can even see the pressure wave that was passing frozen in place.

I get a 2 hour window between 7am and 9am almost everyday varying from 4/5 5/5 which makes these shots possible.

It took me a moment to figure that out but now i know, im taking advantage of it.

Im mainly using an Esprit 150 and a Lunt Solar Wedge with various other filters. I really want to get a Calcium K/H filter and possibly a Magnesium filter.
