Monday Sun 2nd August 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

We had blue skies this morning after early morning clouds moved along to the east revealing our beautiful Sun and the two tiny sunspots mentioned in other posts growing in a developing active region.

Here are my images in Ca II K, Ha and WL (green continuum).

First up, Ca II K

Then over to the red using my Lunt 60 and a Basler acA2440-75um with a 2.5x PM to create a mosaic. It's a little patchy at the joins :(

Finally a couple of WL images of sunspot genesis.

Then the clouds rolled back in.....

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Very nice Stu! I was rather tardy in getting out of bed this morning and missed the brief sunny window, looks like it might rain for me yet...

Thank you Stu for your excellent captures and of AR2850 of course.

I was hoping to get some captures, but no so than I arrived at the observatory, a large/long and dark cloud-band started its' journey across, so just sat outside and had lunch in the cool breeze instead. But no rain !!

Cheers
Terry
