ISS transit 7th of August, 2021.

Post by Lagonda »

ISS transit over the Sun today, with some nice proms (yes, ISS did pass exactly over them). Does anybody know is NAUKA module visible in this image?
Image taken with Baader D-ERF 135 (closed down to 113mm) + TEC 140FL + Baader TZ3 + Solar Spectrum RG38 H-alpha 0.5A + ZWO ASI 174MM. This is single exposure frame taken out of video file. Traveling almost 200km to grab 0.62 seconds was worth it. :)

Wow, great shot, Alan. It was definitely worth the 200 km drive. Your one frame looks like a stacked stack.

As for the "Nauka" module, I do not presume to assert, but based on what I read on the Internet, I think that in the photo it merges with the "Zvezda" module, which is located on the right between the sections of solar panels. Together they look like a small cross.

I believe the Nuk mod is the cross shape on the right between the 2 main panels on your shot.

Excellent images, Ivan and Simon both.

We have a few opportunities coming up, but need the weather to change substantially to give us any chance here in the UK.
