Images taken in excellent seeing conditions, Aug 14, 300 mm Newtonian

Post by christian viladrich »

Hi,

Here is a set of images taken in excellent seeing conditions with the 300 mm on August 14.

http://astrosurf.com/viladrich/astro/so ... -B1920.jpg

Same region 15 min latter with some evolution in pores :

http://astrosurf.com/viladrich/astro/so ... -B1920.jpg

This region is crowded with intergranular bright points. In Ca K it would appear as a bright plage :

Ca K images will follow later.

Clear skies !

Christian,
These are I think the highest resolution white light images I have ever seen taken through an amateur instrument and that says a lot with all the fine images posted here. These look like professional images taken with a much larger telescope. I was utterly blown away by these!! The intergranular bright points show up amazingly well!

I would be curious to see one of these colorized.

Perfect works, Christian. This is your already familiar level.

Christian, I agree with James. These are the best wl images from not professional telescope.
Compliments.

I'm wondering how do you collimate your newton. With a not coated primar mirror I image it is impossible to use a artificial star. What do you use for collimating?

Tks

Alessandro
