Lots of cloud and wind today.

WoW, That monster is still there. When is it ever going to rotate onto the disk? I am under tropical storm Fred today with thunderstorms and heavy rain.
Very nice images, Chris!

Thanks.
I hoped for better seeing. It never happened.
Why is it stuck on the limb? It should have come around the corner by now.

Yes that is an interesting question Chris.
The Stereo Heliographic image of this evening/Z doesn't show any significant activity in the NE - yet.

Re: 17.08.2021 NE Prom still there.
The filament is visible on the disc today, I expect it is horizontal on the Sun so we are seeing it's end coming towards us and it will keep coming for as long as the filament is. It might take many days if it is a long one. If they are in a vertical position they very quickly come over the limb as the they are always usually thin.

Great images, Chris. Just rain, cloud and more rain here….so frustrating.

Re: 17.08.2021 NE Prom still there.
Many thanks again.
Cloud cover was over 90% yesterday. Even worse at times.
Transparency improved later in the afternoon but the image was shaking violently!
I captured so many videos over that last hour I really should batch process and try for an animation.
If only I could get the final results to move!
Through the shaky seeing on the monitor I was sure I saw a "straight beam with a bulbous bottom" lift vertically off the surface.
This was in real time at ~18.30[CET] 16.30 [UTC.] Watching the captured videos in series afterwards it wasn't nearly so obvious.
Probably just an illusion due to the rapid image distortion. This was right in the middle of the prom.
I see a lot of live, H-alpha in close-up while capturing 5 second videos at around five second intervals.
This is with 1500+mm minimum focal length. Plus the amplification boost [crop factor] from the small sensor in the '174.
The SharpCap active screen area is very large on a 27" Hi-res monitor seen at close quarters!

Re: 17.08.2021 NE Prom still there.
Thanks Franco.
I was seeing more detail on the monitor. Even more detail on my 4K 55" TV.
I thought the video quality would break down at that scale but was pleasantly surprised.
