From my collection with C11 & C14 scopes. NEW IMAGE №2
Hi all,
Finally we have a cloudy day with some signs for a rain. So, instead of a solar telescope eyepiece, I took a look in to my very large archive of H-a images taken with an old, third-hand C11 equipped with a full size dialectric energy rejection filter (DERF) and a cheapest mica etalon - a DayStar Quark + Basler 1920-155 camera with a IMX174 chip. Here is an image of a small active area with a small surge protuberance with a deep forest of spiculaes around. 4000 images were stacked.
Observatory elevation - 55m above sea level
This image is for your play in images post processing. Enjoy!

Thanks Valery,
The data was excellent, thanks for giving me a chance to play with such high quality data. Here is my version. Still not quite achieve the smooth, wispy looks that I want. Maybe will take another try tonight.

Dear friends I see that for some of you a high res data is interesting to play with it in post processing.
So, I will post here more pictures (taken during the same session).
Here is a busy chromosphere on the limb. It will require a little different technique to process - should be even more interesting.
Enjoy!
Valery

Re: From my collection of H-a images with C11 and C14 scopes.
Thanks Valery, now that's what I call "lockdown therapy" )
And that limb sure does look busy. Here's my take on it. I was focused to get the background "aerosol" so surface details was second priority. And you are right, the limb always is the hardest especially if you try to get everything in 1 shot. The high brightness differential was challenging but I had a good time. Thanks again! I created a color version this time.

Re: From my collection of images with C11 & C14 scopes. NEW IMAGE!
I was being jumpy. On closer inspection I realized that too much dynamic range compressing bring out some stacking artifacts (the grid like-pattern on the background "fog". Especially noticable in the colourized version since the shadows is lifted more. Perhaps result of no alignment point placed on the background maybe?)
But no problem, it was the background anyway and it meant to be wispy, foggy without sharp edges. So I went ahead an throw in some masked multiscale pattern remover. Lost some edges om the proms due to bad masking but at least now the background looks smooth. I decided to leave some artifact intact due to laziness. (Figured I can get them all without affecting the proms sharpness with some carefully parametered line defect removal but I was too lazy to do so since figuring out the scale to remove without knowing the focal length and pixel size of the camera is not a small labour)
And while I am at it I thought to myself, why not a different coloring mood. So here it is.

Here's my go with the last image. Love high res data, can't wait to get my hi-res setup put together over the next few months so I can try and capture data close to this level, lol. Didn't try and push this image too far, as I'm drawn to the more artsy, wispy, smooth, and low noise style of processing, even if it leaves detail on the table still. Fun to see all different styles from different people!

I have a solar spectrum on order, and actually have a DERF on order with you for my C11 (I'm Ammon Buehler, used to have the handle of 'ammonthenephite' here but recently changed it to 'AJamesB'). So in a few months when it all comes together I hope to try and make use of the good seeing oportunities of my location here on Maui, Hawaii with the Haleakala volcano being about an hour's drive away.
