2021-08-21 - Quick session (HA/CaK)

Post by JochenM »

Solar imaging has been at a low here to say the least (daytime clear skies have become an almost nonexistent thing the last 2 months or so). Today showed a few breaks in the clouds however, so tried to make the most of it.

Quite a few nice features on the disk at the minute, including one huge filaprom which is hard to miss. Overall, short but nice session. See you in another 2 months

Setup:

HA: 80ED, Quark Chromosphere, 35nm Baader H-Alpha, ASI174.
CaK: 80ED @ 60mm f/10 (full disk) or f/15 (closeups), Lunt CaK b1800, ASI290.

Jochen:
A nice and complete session in 2 lights.
Well done.
Have a nice weekend, at my place is raining due to "Grace".
Eric.

Excellent!!! :bow :hamster: at least you got to capture the new little AR on the limb :hamster: I know your pain, I haven't seen the Sun since one month ago now, and now I have no computer either so I don't want the Sun to come out and taunt me :(

Thanks Eric. Strange year weather-wise all over the place it seems.

Sorry to hear that, Alexandra. Hope you get things sorted soon enough :(

Nice Jochen. And thanks for including your set-ups. Very helpful to those of us just getting started in solar imaging.

Nice work Jochen. You have captured that big filament well! I hope your weather clears on the approaching autumn. Nice CaK images too!

Considering so many of us having weather-problems as you have too Jochen, you have been lucky to grab these excellent images and of the newbie AR2859 too.

Thanks vm for sharing.

Nice images, Jochen! AR2859 appeared on horizon. Color of CaK is very attractive!
