Sun in Ha 22nd Aug 2021
First imaging session since Aug 3rd with the run of weather we've been having here, so a little bit rusty (in more ways than one, given the rain).
Here's a full disk image of today's Sun made up of 6 strongly overlapping panes using my TS Lunt 60. Through gaps in the clouds it was a challenge getting everything set up optimally and in consequence the FD is a bit patchy, but I'll take what I can get weatherwise.....

Being an optimist I even ventured into a little hi-res with my 150/Lunt 35 mod, targeting AR2859 on the eastern limb. It was lunchtime and not the best time of day for this type of work, but the seeing conditions were 'okay', so I pressed ahead.

I tried pushing my luck and set up for a CaK FD, but of course the infrequent gaps between cloud banks closed and that was that....session over.
I was just glad to get some Sun time after the break, even if only a little.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Nice captures, Stu. Good that you stayed on it and got some images.

Well done Stu, Looks like there is a high pressure coming this week so fingers crossed for some 'relaxed' long spells of observing. The kids go back to school in a couple of weeks so the weather should improve then

Re: Sun in Ha 22nd Aug 2021
Excellent captures Stu and yes indeed the forecast charts for the next five days (from Monday) are showing a high-pressure region taking over for much of the U.K., so hopeful more of us including myself might get some captures..

Both look really nice Stu. The second one, the closeup of AR12859 is awesome!
