Mixed bag 26th August 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

A really decent day of sunshine today and a chance to capture some rays across the spectrum at different image scales.

Calcium and Ha FDs:

The main active regions looked pretty good in Ha on my 150mm/Lunt 35 mod.

The main proms were a treat. Not very big (relatively speaking), but worth the effort.

FDs and the same active regions in 'WL' (540nm continuum)

Your FD's are possibly better than SDO's and the proms and last two close-up's are excellent Stu.

Thanks for sharing

Very fine set of images, Stu. I like them all. Great color, detail, uniformity, you name it, those are exceptional shots. Interesting shaped proms too.

A really good set Stu! The sun has been completely elusive for me this past week, just seems to have been cloud over the Midlands... Not to worry been using the opportunity to move around a bit and take in some new routes. The sun did come out yesterday but we were travelling up the River Severn, and i've not got round to modding the solarquest mount to have a self levelling gimbal system for boat usage. About to take a 30 mile trip north today (and over weekend) to get us back up on the 'Shroppie' where with its wide towpaths, if the sun does come out I will be able to get the scopes out...

Many thanks, guys. I really appreciate your comments.

Glad the canal trip is going well, Mark, even under cloud. The scope mount mod sounds like an interesting project :)

Very nice indeed Stuart, the CaK really shows the two active belts very well. Loads of super details in all the high res too :hamster: :bow
I'm hoping tomorrow morning should be a good solar session. I've nearly got most things working on the laptop now, I've got two cameras working and CS5, but need Autostakkert and ImPPG before I can get going.

I envy you Mark.

That's a very nice set of images Stuart! You certainly have the bases covered here. I really like all of them but especially notice your CaK work.

BIG thumbs up!!

Hi Alexandra,

Glad things are coming together with your computer. The weather does look really favourable :) I hope you manage to complete the software installation in time.
