NEW AR286(3) IN THE S.E. - 3 SPOTS !! 18-8-2021

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

:hamster:
SDO is clearly showing three new-spots in an un-named AR at datum and in the South East..

Making (for now) a total of five AR's containing spots is certainly the way forward in Cycle #25... :bow

CLEAR SKIES

The skies were clear a couple of hours ago Franco, but now totally cloud-covered, so no imaging likely today.
Rain a probability here too.

Thanks
Terry

Thank Nic. The skies still totally covered here and some rain too, so hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Although the new spots (now without an active AR) in the S.E. (and East of AR2860) as in the SDO image is quite small and barely see-able, compared to the gigantic-area of spots in AR2860 now.

But prominence activity is certainly worth looking for when day-breaks as SDO shows much of those...

Thanks for sharing Terry.
We have in Belgium the worst summer ever ... just like autumn.

Thanks Maurits and much the same here as we are not that far apart.

Ideally I need a whole day of clear blue skies to get the Sodium set-up working better with FD's etc., but wishing for that is like wishing for a million-dollars to drop out of the sky into my garden...!!

Hey Ho, we have to just keep wishing though
