Our star today just before the Bank Holiday clouds rolled in. Presented in RGB and monochrome using the equipment listed below.

Images 1 & 2 - The full solar disc revealing some small prominences on the South East and Western limb, several filaments and active regions AR12859 and AR12860 in the Northern and Southern hemispheres respectively.

Images 3 & 4 - AR12859 captured using the TeleVue 4x Powermate. Located N22W28, this region contains a single sun spot and is classified Hsx. This region has been producing flares, the largest was classified C3.1 on 20th August 2021.

Images 5 & 6 - AR12860 captured using the TeleVue 4x Powermate. This is a massive region located S29W17 and containing 24 sun spots. Currently classified Eki. Like AR12859, this region has been producing flares, the largest being classified M4.8 which occurred on 28th August 2021. Interestingly, on Friday 27th August a class C3 flare from this region launched a CME that is expected to reach Earth on Monday 30th August 2021.

Excellent solar disk and close ups, John! Weather here kept me away from solar sessions for while now. Solarchat is a great relief for lack of daily sunshine.

So true! The sun always shines on SolarChat! And then there is the GONG network and the SDO too.

A superb set :bow :hamster: I was wondering about the tin hats too, however, it is Tuesday and I survived without one :)
