Re: 30.08.2021 AR2860: Worth the wait?
Thank you.
There was flare activity this afternoon.
I watched as it brightened in mere seconds to the south east of the easternmost spot.
It looked like a rocket burning upwards through cloud. With bright arcs forming to the north.
The seeing was off at the time with thermal agitation making it worse.

My Wife is certainly handy but draws the line at carrying telescopes.
So I had to build an observatory. To cut down on the cost of hiring Sherpas.

Nice one Chris, I've ordered a pack of 'em r-bands, as I can fink of other purposes too..
Yeh, I fink "Woman's Lib" compared to "Equal Equalities" is still around and will be for yonks...
The grand-view of the observatory is great and you deserve a medal for your efforts. (where to pin-it - is another matter)...!!
What about those trees though ? Do you need to borrow my chain-saw ??
CLEAR SKIES through the tree-line...

Thanks.
However detailed, my images are still lacking the sharpness of many posted here.
I can't use PS and the slightest touch of Sigma [sharpening] in ImPPG makes my images spotty.
While this may offer the [short lived] illusion of sharpness it is more akin to the newspaper images of my youth.

Talk about sharpening, this has always been a problem for me. Because these plasmas do not have a solid shape, they should be softer in theory. So i always struggling on the strength of the sharpen.Rusted wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 5:41 amThanks.

Perhaps it is only the larger apertures and narrow band etalons which bring that sense of looking at something solid?AstrOdyssey wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 6:49 am

With towering and inescapable, living, green walls.
Most people are surrounded by buildings.
So I should count myself extremely fortunate.
Perhaps I should build a tower, solar telescope next?
