9.09.2021 AR2866 08.33 [UTC] Flaring

Post by Rusted »

I am enjoying far better seeing than usual under a clear blue sky.
Struggling with PST etalon sweet spot and AS!3 instability.

08.33 [UTC] AR2866 at maximum flare:

Thanks Franco. :bow

AR2866 cracked wide open!

Here is a heavily cropped and downsized image of the pair: AR2866 & 8.
The flare has been replaced by multiple filaments.

Well done Chris on the flare-capture which with both of those AR's could be significant for causing disruption to Radio-communications on Earth and certainly if 2868 flares at a similar time - which is quite likely...

Thanks vm for sharing
Terry

WoW, that flare followed along that filament in AR12866! It's a wonder it did not eject it into space as a CME.

Thank you everybody. :bow

Flares are a problem. You can't turn down the brightness. :D
