New camera ASI174mm - NR problem solved and Sun WL and HA Sept 2021

Post by Radon86 »

Hi All on SolarChatForum,
I have been away from the SCF, but recently managed a few imaging sessions with my new ASI 174mm camera and HEQ5 Pro mount and also 90mm refractor which I am still testing.

Anyhow, I got some WL images with my ED70 refractor and H-Alpha with the Quark Chromosphere. Here are some images, minimal processing done.

1) Sun WL 20210907 - ASI120mm-S; 2 images merged for multiple sunspots
2) Sun spots 20210908 H-alpha- ASI120mm-S - flats applied, ImageJ to remove newton rings; ImPPG
3) Sun : 20210908- ASI174mm - flats with Newton rings
4) Sun : 20210908: ASI174mm - H-alpha, ZWO tilt adaptor, 2mm tilt (or 2.86 degrees) removes NR

Happy imaging, clear skies to all !

Magnus

You are getting there Magnus.
The last image (possibly with a little more fine-focusing using the limb-edge) is looking good, so keep up the good work...

Thanks Terry,
I will take another look next time when there is good seeing to see if my focus can be improved; hopefully the tilt will not blur the image too much.

Hi All,
Thank you so much, Alexandra,Arne,Mark and Terry for your kind comments.
Its taken over 2 years to learn the solar imaging, and I think I am getting the hang of it now.
Need to work more on my processing (have to take patience to take each step carefully, follow a routine or formula).

Many thanks for everyone for their support and encouragement.

Magnus
