Huge prom in high res on Sept 11

Post by gabrieli »

A windy day, a mostly cloudy day, and a day when my power supply quit intermittently. I switched to a weaker power supply which worked out ok.

Since my main subject was the large prom, I use a Quark Combo on my 180 Mak with a 1.5X telecentric.
The images produced on my ASI 290 required a 2 pane mosaic to cover the entire prom.

I also tried using a 0.5 X reducer to fit the prom on 1 frame but the images showed loss of sharpness on one side.
I should have tried imaging with no telecentric but opportunities were few.
I've included some samples of those weaker images too.

Images can be clicked for a larger view.

Lou,
These all are excellent! I love the colors you used on the last one the best. It makes the prominence appear backlit in a warm yellow light.

Thanks for sharing.
