Session time is 13:24 until 15:00 UTC. The skies are clear but very hazy with a nearly milky white sky. The seeing is a bit below average. The temperature is 73F ( 22.7C ) at 14:00 UTC. From Rock Hill S.C.
Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS. 16x and 25x ( Ha )
I can see 6 plage regions in Ha today. AR12868 and AR12866 are easily seen side by side in the SW quadrant nearing the limb. AR12869 is easily visible SSE of AR12866. I can see another disturbance in the NW quadrant. A filament overlies it. GONG Cerro Tololo Ha shows it to have a rough cross shape but I could not resolve that visually. I could also pick up a disturbance in the SE in the form of a pale plage that took a close look to see. I also with some difficulty could pick up a disturbance in the NE inward and south of some prominences located there.
I see few filaments on the disc today. One in a NW disturbance and three near the limb NW of it at the edge of the vanishing AR12865 which I could not see. The only filament I see in the southern hemisphere is a small but easy one near the SE limb.
In double stack I notice two decent prominence areas. The NE limb shows two bright ones with the northernmost one being the taller of the two and quite thin. I see two more on the SE limb. GONG CT shows additional fainter ones on the NW and SW limb.
The mottles are seen without difficulty today.
Orion 70mm Solar telescope. 25x and 50x ( WL )
I can see 4 active regions in WL today. AR12868 in the SW shows 3 spots to my small refractor with the SDOHMI image showing a couple of additional pores. The southernmost spot shows a penumbra. It's faculae is bright and easy to see. Just to it's east I see AR12866 with 7 spots/pores. The largest of these shows a penumbra surrounding a small dark umbra. It's faculae are easily seen. AR12869 is easily seen as a long pale patch of faculae SSE of AR12866. I see no spots or pores there. The only other region I see on the disc is a patch of faculae just inside of the NE limb. A disturbance is seen in the same location in Ha.
The granulation is visible but doesn't stand out well today.
Carpe Noctem!
James

Re: September 13 2021 Observations
Thank you James.
I can't find more activity in either the NE or SE limb areas other than what you have mentioned.
Does look as if a Sun-holiday is in the offing.
Cheers
Terry

Alexandra. It’s on my friend’s back lawn. We didn’t have a single person go by on the sidewalk.

Hi James,
Great description, great location and great tools. And most importantly, a wonderful person who unites all this.
Ivan

Nice report and nice to see a pic of the scopes too. Sounds warm there - our central heating turned itself on a couple of times today. Leaves are definitely starting to change colour now, autumn is here!

Thank you James and good to see you are utilising the lawn (even if not your own), but shame no-passers by for an outreach even...
Wet and humid all day today, so getting-on with starting to fit-out the new observatory...
Cheers

Re: September 13 2021 Observations
Ivan,
Thanks for the complements. And my tools are simple compared to many here. Thank you very much!
Mark,
For Rock Hill it was actually a bit cooler than typical. 30C plus is common there. My Edneyville home in the NC mountains is always a bit cooler.
