Well, here are all the winners in the Our Sun category for this year, and this category won the overall title too Sadly as expected all eclipse images All our hard work always gets eclipsed. Never mind, they are all great Sun images but sadly not all of us are able to get to eclipse sites. But Congratulations to the hard work of the winners and runners up and the shortlisted too

Re: Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition 2021
Thanks, Alexandra.
This keeps happening. Maybe we should suggest to the organisers that eclipses should be in a category of their own. They are, after all, a combination of the Sun and Moon, not just the Sun and require a completely different approach from an imaging standpoint.
They ARE beautiful images, there’s no question about that, but I think eclipses should stand on their own and be judged on their own unique merits in their own section.
Would you agree?
Stu.

I totally agree Stu. The only time you can win in the Our Sun section is when there is a 'no eclipse' year the year before
