NEW AR's TWO VERY LARGE SPOTS - UPDATE 18:40z 18-6-2021

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

The latest SDO hi-resolution images shows that almost definitely there are two spots associated with the very active AR at the S.E.Limb.

The attached image clearly shows the primary/first is very large, compared to the second (slightly behind) which at present appears slightly smaller as hi-lighted... That of course is - as can be seen at the moment, but another 24+hours will confirm this...

Looking forward to seeing many images of the spots if you are able to have the clear skies.

Terry

These two large spots would of course account for the massive prom displays over the last two days.

Thanks James, Mark and rigel123.
This morning SDO is showing the second as smaller than the attached image here suggests.
