Sept 23 Proms and Spicules

Post by Jordan Konisky »

Image9-23-2021 Proms & Spicules by Jordan Konisky, on Flickr

I finally feel ready to post my first Ha image on SCF. I see where it could use some improvement but feel good enough about its quality to let you all have a look at it. Many of you have helped me get to this stage with your kind and patient responses to my many queries over the last several months as I struggled to couple my SkyWatcher ED100 refractor, Quark Chromosphere, and ZWO 174 camera with all the accessories in between. Thank you so much. This image, taken on Sept. 23, was captured with SharpCap and processed with Autostakkert, IMPPG and PS. I welcome critiques and suggestions for improvements.

Jordan

Jordan:
A super image of the prominence itself, getting a higher contrast on the chromosphere of the rest of the image would make the composite image a most beautiful one.
Best regards.
Eric.

Great first image, Jordan. You’ve captured some lovely fine details in that prom shot.
