Animation of the "windswept" prom on 9/29/2021

Post by rigel123 »

James recently posted his observation of this prom on the NE limb as "smoke trailing north" which is a great description. AR2880 is just below in this 90 degree rotated animation which covers 45 minutes in real time. Lunt LS60T DS, ASI174MM. 500 frames recorded every 30 seconds, aligned and stacked in AS!3, sharpened in ImPPG and GIF done in PS CC. Also including a full disk from that day and a close up of AR2871/77 and proms on the limb.

Nice, Warren. I love animations as they serve to show just how dynamic the Sun really is.

Thanks Stu! I also like them for that reason, and I often catch some things I might miss visually.
