Monday Sun 4th October 2021
A brief period of sunshine midday gave me an opportunity to take a few images in Ha, Ca II K and 430nm.
First up is a Ca II K FD in mono and colour showing some nice plage banded regions in the northern and southern hemispheres, punctuated with two active regions: AR12880 towards the meridian and AR12882 just this side of the eastern limb.

The seeing conditions were quite okay for the most part and I managed to capture some closer views of the active region AR12882 using my Lacerta solar wedge on my Tecnosky 125 with 2.5x and 5x PMs respectively, although it was a struggle to retain much detail at the higher magnification. I've cropped the original a little as well with this image. The 'Wilson' effect is clear to see (a slight depression within the umbra causing the closest edge of the penumbra to appear thinner than the rest of it).

AR12880 appears a just a few minor sunspots and pores currently.

By this time I could see clouds rolling in from the west, thick and very dark, causing me to panic a little and pack up before we received one of the many heavy showers we've been having recently and that was the end of the session for today.
Thanks for looking.

Terrific images Stuart, the white light view is my favourite, it's lovely to see the Wilson effect
