October 4 2021 Observations. 8x32 Lunt SUNoculars

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Time 14:09 UTC. 66F ( 18.8C )

Today has had very little sun and I have been under heavy leaden clouds. But I had a very brief parting and grabbed my 8x32 Lunt SUNoculars. I could see the spot group of AR12880 now in the NW quadrant and the single spot of the new AR12882 just inside the eastern limb.

Good luck on better views today, everyone.

James

That was a quick one James, but I bet it was worth the view :hamster:

It was. I just corrected SW to NW for the location of AR12880. A basic observation is better than no observation at all!

Those sunoculars are handy, at least you got a view in James.

Nice to see James , a time ago I had the sunocular too, but the view was to small in my opinion.
This time again a good report 😊

They certainly won't put your white light telescope out of business, that's for sure but with no setup time and their extreme portability they can give a basic low power quick look at the Sun to see spots on the disc. They can sometimes make a difference between an observation and no observation. For what it's worth, I certainly endorse them.

James
