AR122882 in Ha with 8 inch Triband
AR122882 in Ha with 8 inch Triband
Spaceweather has reported, that AR 2882 produced at 0640 UT a M2-class solar flare and an Earth-directed CME. https://spaceweather.com/images2021/09o ... 7_anim.gif
There was fog here in Munich in the morning. The sky only cleared up around lunch, but clouds kept coming through. The seeing was rather poor. After 3 hours of observation did I manage to take a good video. The bright little spot in the umbra is striking. This could also be seen visually.
telescope: Triband 8 Zoll SC f=2000mm, 3x telecentric , SolarSpektrum SunDancer II 0,6 A, ASI174 .

Yes, I got the flare alert on my SpaceWeatherLive app but it was too early for me to catch the Sun. That's a nice view of AR12882!

Re: AR122882 in Ha with 8 inch Triband
Slight confusing Mike, as the date of the GIF from SDO was showing the 8th, whereas today/9th the latest SDO GIF of the Earth-bound CME shows that at around 09:00z the M1 class CME as a "Halo"-CME occurred.
Show as:- https://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/LA ... ent_c2.gif
Be aware that usually spaceweather.com is up to 24-hours out of date (but not always), where the confused date of the GIF and the CME event - may have occurred...

Excellent image Mike!
Same weather pattern here. Clouds in the morning, but a few patches of clear skies allowed for some imaging around noon.
Best regards,
Arne
