Sunday Sun October 10th 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

Well...the sky was lovely this morning, but the seeing conditions were pretty poor. It was that high frequency shimmering effect; the type makes the solar limb somewhat blurry and obliterates the finer details. Anyhow here's a record of the Sun from today in Ha and CaK as full disks in mono and colour and a closer view of AR12882 in Ha. My WL images of the same area came out really horrible. I was hoping to capture Ha, WL and Ca II K close up views, but it was not to be.

Thanks for looking.

These came out really nice despite the challenging seeing!

Only rain here today, but tomorrow and Tuesday looks promising!

Thanks for sharing,
Arne

Arne

Very crispy CaK full disc, you can see the bright ring around the penumbra in this very clearly. I love the H-alpha close up :bow :hamster:

Those are very good images, Stu. You have been setting the bar rather high for the rest of us recently.

Many thanks guys. I really appreciate your comments.
