NEW - AR2885 IN BETWEEN 2882 & 2883 Weds 13-10-2021

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

A newly numbered Active Region as 2885 has crept-in between the Big AR2882 and the "falling over" the North-Western Limb of AR2883.

Slightly unusual layout of the newbie, as a large number of small-spots forming a triangle in batches of those spots.. :!:

AR2882 continues to be very active and currently is likely to push M-Class flares or even another CME.

CLEAR SKIES
Terry

I caught that sucker this morning in the Orion70! Looking at the magnetogram I said " Ahh, a new system ".

Thanks for the update confirming this!

Thanks Terry! Activity is good at the moment, but grey skies and work mean i'm only solar observing online for the foreseeable. Hope the new obs is coming along nicely. Still waiting for the 100/800 to arrive here, just hoping all goes well and we can make it out to iceland next weekend...

Thanks James, Marios, Mark, and Stu.

Yes Mark the mini-newbie is nearing completion, with the final-stages of designing the observation hatch completed yesterday and probably today will be cut-out to the finish. Plus a flip-down table being done first (in a few minutes from now) for which-ever PC is to be used.

Mini De-Humidifier installed and works very well and with the current expected non-rainy weather, all should be completed by this week or so...

The latest addition, is a "State of the Art" overhead LED lighting panel, which has dimmable and variable light-type availability and which stops the eye-strain and for night-time will allow "eye-adaption" much better and along with the secondary red-light panels - is the bizz...!!

All will be shown in pics shortly..

Regards
Terry

Thanks Franco Maurits and Alexandra :bow

Yes Alexandra, I saw that image and just shows that the right timing for snapping the disk, can produce a new item such as flares even... :bow

The latest image just published from SDO is attached here and in a new post of the AR activity. :hamster:
