Friday Sun - FDs in Ha and Ca II K 15th October 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

AR12882 is well and truly heading on its way towards the limb, so there isn't much time remaining to get a last glimpse of it before it disappears around the bend. Thankfully we've had a beautiful blue sky day here today and a chance for me to image a couple of FDs in Ha and Ca II K using my usual setup.

The Ha FD is a 9 pane mosaic and the Ca II K is a four pane, both using a Basler acA2440-75 um camera and 2.5x PM.

Workflow:
Genika Astro
AS!3
MS ICE
ImPPG
PixInsight to tweak and add colour

I did try to make an animation of the main prom on the eastern limb, but it was so still that the end result was as dull as dishwater to watch, so it ended up in the bin.

Anyhow, here are the FDs:

First up is the Ca II K FD in mono and colour.

...and the Ha FD also in mono and colour.

No magnified views this time as the conditions weren't really up to it.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Stu,
I am now setting up for my own observations. Your images give me a nice heads up onto what is going on. Thanks.

Thanks Stu for your latest excellent FD's. Not the most active of days today, but you've shown the most of that.
