27 Oct 2021, AR12887 and FDs in WL and H-alpha

Post by H-Alpha »

Hi all,

After some rainy and cloudy days there was an appropriate time window for a short session. The Autumn trajectory of the sun in combination with surrounding buildings do no allow for longer sessions and animations as during the previous months :-(. Anyway, it is always nice at least to have a glimpse of our beautiful star, especially as it gets more active than the predictions and let us dream about great parties of activity in the near future. :-)

Hmmm..., the inversed H-alpha came out a bit darker than I wanted it (...a passing cloud), but I just realized it so I have no time to fix it right now.

All photos with Lunt 130MT, H-alpha or Baader Solar Prism and ZEISS Abbe Barlow at 1.75x for the closer WL view.
ASI1600 for Full Disks, ASI290 for the closer view.

These look good, Alexandros. The floating sky-prom off the eastern limb shows up well. Better than I could see it visually.

Superb collection, the WL is very crisp and detailed and the Halpha is quite divine :bow :hamster:

Dear Terry, Maurits, Eric, James, Alexandra, Franco,

Thank you all for your comments.
I am glad each one finds something different that likes in the photos. :-)

Right now I am trying to capture an amazing eruption in animation. A pity the seeing is bad and it will be blurry because I made the mistake to start with a Barlow 2x... Let's see...

Best wishes,
Alexandros
